The premiere of the Heuberg-Tattoo in 2018 was sold out and brought the 60th State Association Meeting of Spielmanns- und Fanfarenzüge Baden-Württemberg and the 17th World Championship in Flag Throwing to Nusplingen.

In June 2018, the first edition of the Heuberg-Tattoo took place — a sold-out double event that combined the 60th State Association Meeting of Spielmanns- und Fanfarenzüge (drum and fanfare corps) with the 17th World Championship in Flag Throwing. Over the weekend of June 9 and 10, 2018, nine main acts from Germany and abroad performed — including the Freiburg Nuggets, who won bronze at the 2017 Cheerleading World Championship in Japan as the German national team, Irish dancers, German drum corps, and a Massed Pipes ensemble.

Saturday featured the Flag Throwing World Championship in the morning (from 10 AM) and the actual Tattoo in the evening (from 8 PM). Sunday concluded the event with competitions, a festive church service, and a grand parade with a marching competition. The concept was so successful that the Fanfarenzug Nusplingen announced the second edition for 2026.
