Edition 2025 — Hell Over Hammaburg
The 11th edition of Hell Over Hammaburg took place in early March 2025 at the Markthalle Hamburg. Two days of Black, Doom, and Heavy Metal underground on two stages with internationally curated bands from Scandinavia, North America, and Germany. A must-attend event for the North German metal scene.
The 2025 edition confirmed the festival's curatorial rigor: no mainstream acts, no sponsor logos on the stages, but a sharply curated program from the Black, Doom, Heavy, and Post-Metal spectrum. The Markthalle with its two stages (Große Halle and MarX) allowed for parallel and overlapping programming.
Tickets were, as usual, weekend passes, no day tickets. Doors opened on Friday afternoon, Saturday's program ran until after midnight. The atmosphere of the Markthalle — old industrial architecture, black walls, dense lighting — enhanced the festival experience.
