Overview

The 2025 Heimattage took place in a predecessor city before the Heimattage banner was handed over to Oberkirch. The tradition dates back to 1978 and moves to a new Baden-Württemberg city each year.

The Heimattage Baden-Württemberg is an annual state award given since 1978. In 2025, another Baden-Württemberg city was the Heimattage city before the banner was officially handed over to Oberkirch in 2026. Each year, the Heimattage of a city encompass a similar concept: an opening with a concert evening, several themed weeks spread throughout the year, a main event day (the Baden-Württemberg Day), and a closing ceremony with the handover of the banner to the next city.

For Oberkirch, the preparation phase began in 2024 with a steering committee from the city administration, Renchtal Tourism, and local associations. The handover ceremony took place in the spring of 2026, after which the full Heimattage program for 2026, centered around the city of Oberkirch, was launched.
