Heideblütenlauf (37th Edition)

A Traditional Sporting Event

The Heideblütenlauf has been organized by TV Jahn Schneverdingen e.V. since the late 1980s. In 2026, the 37th edition will take place. The date on the Saturday of the Heath Blossom Festival has been set for years and makes the run an integral part of the region's most important heath tourism event.

Routes for All Levels

The Heideblütenlauf offers a wide range of routes. In addition to the classic running distances (5 kilometers, 10 kilometers, half marathon, marathon), there are also walking and Nordic walking routes as well as hiking distances that appeal to all age groups. Families and older participants can complete shorter routes at a walking pace, while ambitious runners can compete on the longest distances.

Heath Blossom Festival and Atmosphere

The run is embedded in the Schneverdingen Heath Blossom Festival, which celebrates the blooming heath every year at the end of August. The start and finish area is located in the middle of the festival, so runners and companions can immerse themselves in the festival atmosphere immediately after crossing the finish line. Live music, food stalls, and celebrating together with the people of Schneverdingen are part of the experience.

Routes Through the Heath

The routes lead through the characteristic landscape of the Lüneburg Heath, which is in full bloom at the end of August. Purple heath areas, wide views, junipers, and pines line the paths. For many participants, this scenery is the main reason to travel to Schneverdingen every year.

TV Jahn Schneverdingen

With over a thousand members, TV Jahn Schneverdingen e.V. is one of the largest sports clubs in the Lüneburg Heath. The running group not only organizes the Heideblütenlauf but also offers training sessions and meetings for runners of all levels throughout the year.
