Overview
In 2025, the Heglauer Krautfest once again attracted thousands of visitors to Krauthof Reuter in Heglau on the third Sunday in September. Sauerkraut production, cabbage specialties, a farmers' market, and a children's program characterized the traditional harvest festival in the Franconian Lake District.
The Heglauer Krautfest 2025 continued the tradition established in 2001. Around Krauthof Reuter, visitors experienced cabbage shredding demonstrations, free sauerkraut tastings, and the popular cabbage head guessing game.
Culinary cabbage specialties ranging from cabbage rolls to cabbage cake, a farmers' market with regional producers, arts and crafts, and a children's program once again made the festival one of the region's best-known harvest festivals around the Historic Cabbage Town of Merkendorf.
