Overview
The 4th edition of the Heatwave Festival took place in July 2025 on the festival meadow at Seggeluchbecken in Märkisches Viertel. As always, it was organized entirely by young people from Reinickendorf, featuring 30+ live acts in Hip-Hop, Pop, Afro-Beats, and Techno. Free admission. The festival once again confirmed its special position in the Berlin festival landscape – one of the few open-airs not run by a commercial agency, but by the local youth themselves.
The 2025 edition continued the established model: two days of open air, 30+ live acts, district and Senate funding, and local sponsorship. With each edition, the festival becomes more visible in the Berlin subculture scene and establishes itself as an important step for young Berlin artists who otherwise find few platforms beyond mainstream festival stages.
