Hahnenklee — the dog-friendly mountain resort
Hahnenklee-Bockswiese has established itself as a dog-friendly destination in the Weser Uplands in recent years. Many hotels and guesthouses explicitly welcome dogs, and the surrounding hiking and mountain landscape offers ideal conditions for extensive dog walks. 3rd edition of a growing tradition
With its 3rd edition in 2026, the event is establishing itself as a permanent fixture in the Hahnenklee event calendar. 'Rund um den Hund' Dog Fair on the Weekend
The highlight of the week is the 'Rund um den Hund' (Around the Dog) fair on Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm. Exhibitors present dog supplies, food, toys, accessories, and fashion. Dog trainers and behavior counselors are available for consultations. Veterinarians and animal health practitioners provide information on health topics. Dog clothing, collars, harnesses, leashes, dog carriers, and much more can be found at the fair.
Guided Hikes in the Weser Uplands
Guided hikes are one of the most attractive program elements. Experienced hiking guides lead dog hikes of varying lengths — from short walks for puppies and seniors to longer tours for active dogs. The hikes lead through the mountain forest around the Bocksberg and provide dog owners with valuable tips for hiking with their own dog.
