Summery garden festival with plants, arts and crafts, and lifestyle offerings in the Hardegsen Castle Park
The Hardegsen Garden Festival LebensLust is one of Hardegsen's younger, but rapidly established, summer events. The venue is the Castle Park – a well-maintained park-like area around Hardegsen Castle, a late medieval castle complex that shapes the town's cityscape today. The combination of a historic castle backdrop and a modern garden market concept gives the event its special character.
The focus of the festival is on plant vendors and nurseries from the southern and western Lower Saxony region, as well as from North Hesse and East Westphalia. Perennials, roses, herbs, fruit trees, Mediterranean plants, wild perennials, and rare plants are offered, forming the core of the market.
The plant offering is complemented by craft stalls with garden-related products: blacksmith art, ceramics, woodwork, mosaics, sculptures, textiles, and home accessories. Designers and outdoor furniture exhibitors are also regularly present.
Gastronomic stalls with high-quality garden party cuisine – from antipasti and summer cakes to regional specialties – create a lifestyle-oriented atmosphere. Seating areas in the Castle Park and live music round off the festival. Thus, LebensLust positions itself as a combined market, indulgence, and inspiration format.
The 2026 edition continues the format with plants, arts and crafts, design, and garden design. The exact date and programme will be published in good time by the town of Hardegsen on the event page.
