Overview

The 2025 Händel Festival focused on Handel's Italian creative period, once again bringing together international ensembles and soloists in the composer's birthplace. Over 80 events marked ten days in Halle and Bad Lauchstädt.

As every year since 1922, the festival took place in the first half of June. The programme featured an opening opera, several oratorios, solo recitals, and open-air concerts. As usual, the venues included the Oper Halle, the Marktkirche, the Ulrichskirche, the Handel House, and the Goethe-Theater Bad Lauchstädt. The International Handel Prize in 2025 was awarded to a renowned proponent of early music.

Programme

Festival focus 2025: Opening premiere at the Oper Halle, three oratorios at the Marktkirche, chamber concerts, and special formats. Award ceremony for the International Handel Prize. Full documentation available at haendelhaus.de.
