Overview
The 2nd edition of the Hanami Cherry Blossom Festival took place in 2025 in Stresemannstraße. As with the premiere in 2024, the street was closed for an afternoon; Japanese martial arts, Taiko drummers, and Japanese specialties attracted thousands of visitors under the blooming cherry trees.
Even the second edition of the Hanami festival in 2025 established the date as a firm spring classic in Marburg's event calendar. Thousands of visitors from Central Hesse came to photograph the blooming cherry blossom avenue and experience the Japanese cultural program.
Programme
Stresemannstraße closed to traffic for an afternoon, Taiko drumming shows, demonstrations of Kendō, Iaidō, and Kyūdō, calligraphy workshops, Japanese street food. Free admission.
