Overview

In 2025, HAM.LIT once again transformed Uebel & Gefährlich into a Long Night of Young Literature and Music. Twelve authors* from the German-speaking world read simultaneously on two floors, with live music from young acts in between. The date has long been considered one of the most important for the young German literary scene.

The 2025 edition continued the proven format: Young novelists, poets, performance artists, and playwrights shared an evening in the concert bunker on Feldstraße. The readings took place simultaneously on two floors, and the audience could move between them, with bands and singer-songwriters providing musical transitions.

This concept has made HAM.LIT one of the most important addresses for young German-language literature — not as a classic book fair, but as a night that brings together literature, music, and the audience in a concert format.
