The Hamburger Kindertheatertreffen 2025 took place in February at the three central Hamburg venues and featured a curated selection of the best productions from the independent children's theatre scene. The positive reception of the festival format led to the programming of the 2026 edition with its first accessible offerings.
Hamburger Kindertheatertreffen 2025 – Retrospective
In February 2025, the Hamburger Kindertheatertreffen once again brought together the best productions from Hamburg's independent children's theatre scene at three venues: FUNDUS THEATER, HoheLuftschiff, and Flachsland Hamburger Puppentheater. For a week, Hamburg theatres performed their plays for school classes in the morning and for families in the afternoons and on weekends.
The working group Hamburger Puppen- und Figurentheater and Kindertheaterszene Hamburg e.V. drew a positive conclusion. Based on this success, the 2026 edition received additional funding – allowing for accessible performances with audio description and tactile tours for the first time.
