Overview

The Großer Fischzug 2025 took place on October 23 in the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve. In a single day, hundreds of carp were caught from the Blumberger Teiche; the nature conservancy accompanied the day with ornithological tours, and the NABU Blumberger Mühle hosted a carp market and mulled wine.

During the Großer Fischzug 2025 on October 23, the centuries-old carp tradition of the Blumberger Teiche once again attracted many visitors to the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve. Fishermen in waders pulled heavy nets through the knee-deep residual water of the drained ponds, while the public watched the fish catch from the paths. Concurrently, the nature conservancy of the Biosphere Reserve conducted ornithological observations—hundreds of resting migratory birds, cranes, and wild geese made the day one of the best bird-watching opportunities of the Brandenburg autumn. At the market at the NABU Blumberger Mühle, fresh carp, smoked fish, and mulled wine were available to ward off the cool October air.
