Overview

The 21st Great Day of Prayer took place on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the parish church of St. Laurentius Konnersreuth. Highlights included the solemn Pontifical Mass with Archbishop em. Ludwig Schick, the premiere of a specially composed Mass, and the candlelight procession to Therese Neumann's grave.

On the 21st Great Day of Prayer on February 28, 2025, the day began at 2 PM with the Stations of the Cross, followed by prayer services and opportunities for confession from 3:30 PM. At 6:30 PM, the Rosary was recited, followed at 7 PM by the solemn Pontifical Mass, celebrated by the retired Archbishop of Bamberg, Ludwig Schick. On this occasion, a Mass specially composed for the parish and participating choirs was premiered. Afterwards, the candlelight procession proceeded to Therese Neumann's grave and back to the fountain on Therese-Neumann-Platz; prayer services in the church continued until midnight. The church was filled to capacity, with around 15 priests and religious, as well as pilgrimage groups from the Netherlands, in attendance.
