The Grafenauer Weihnachtsmarkt 2025 took place on the first Advent weekend around Dätzingen Castle, confirming its culturally focused concept of castle tours, art exhibitions, and Advent concerts. The municipality of Grafenau once again organized the market as a contemplative counterpoint to the large Advent markets in the region — with a manageable number of stalls and a cultural focus.
2025 — The Proven Castle Market
The 2025 edition confirmed the character of the Grafenauer Weihnachtsmarkt as a culturally focused alternative to the large mulled wine markets in the Stuttgart region. In 2025, the municipality again focused on artisans with high quality standards — not just mass-produced goods, but handmade pieces made of ceramics, wood, and glass.
The Advent concerts were held in the castle cellar — an acoustically excellent space with a historic vaulted ceiling. Local choirs, brass ensembles, and a string quartet provided the musical program. The art exhibitions featuring works by regional artists from the Heckengäu complemented the cultural program.
