Three days of open air at the Jahnstadion: Techno, German Pop, and an XXL Kids' Festival
The G.O.A.'s concept differs from classic open-air festivals through its consistent separation of musical profiles by day. Instead of a mixed lineup, the festival relies on clearly defined character days, each appealing to a different audience. This allows the festival to reach both the Techno scene and Indie and Pop fans, and additionally position itself as a family event on Sunday.
Friday, May 15th, 2026, belongs to the Techno scene. The headliner is Neelix – one of the most famous representatives of German Psytrance, who has gained international fame with his pulsating sets. The Jahnstadion provides the spatial requirements for a large-scale event with a professional sound system, elaborate light show, and a large dance floor. The atmosphere of a long May night outdoors gives the festival a special character.
Saturday, May 16th, 2026, has a clear focus on Pop and Indie. The main act is ENNIO – a German Pop musician who has made a name for himself in recent years with catchy songs and a distinct stage presence. The program is complemented by other Pop and Indie acts and is aimed at a broad audience that values melodic music and songwriting quality.
Sunday, May 17th, 2026, is designed as an XXL Kids' Festival. The grounds will be redesigned to be child-friendly, with bouncy castles, carousels, craft activities, face painting, a Holi area with colored powder, child-appropriate music, and a family program. This demonstrates the festival's commitment to family-friendliness and positions it as a multi-generational event.
Göttingen, with its large student community and a vibrant cultural landscape, offers an ideal setting for a versatile open-air festival. The Jahnstadion on the outskirts is easily accessible from the city center and offers ample space for a multi-day event.
The festival utilizes the Jahnstadion and the adjacent parking lot as a dual event space. The open-air atmosphere of a May night and the compact combination of concert and dance floor create the mood that defines the festival. The sound technology and light show are tailored to the respective musical profiles.
Sunday as an XXL Kids' Festival represents a remarkable position. Where many festivals treat family-friendliness as a secondary aspect, G.O.A. makes the family audience an independent target group for an entire day. Holi powder, bouncy castles, carousels, and child-friendly music create a festival atmosphere for the youngest visitors.
