Overview

The 2025 Children's and Village Festival in Giesensdorf took place in June – as usual around the fire station, with family entertainment, children's games, catering by local clubs, and a convivial get-together. The organiser was the municipality of Giesensdorf, coordinated by the local organising team.

The 2025 edition followed the proven format of the village festival. As always, residents of Giesensdorf and guests from surrounding communities in the Herzogtum Lauenburg district met to spend a communal summer day.

The programme was typically rural and down-to-earth: children's games and activities for the little ones in the afternoon, catering by local clubs, music, and a relaxed evening conclusion. Admission was free, as always, and the festival activities were concentrated in the area around the fire station. Such village festivals are the most important social anchor points of the year in the small communities of the Lauenburg Lake District.
