German Mill Day 2025 – Review

On Whit Monday 2025, numerous Hamburg residents took the opportunity to visit the Rieck Haus on one of its special program days. The mill was running, craftspeople demonstrated blacksmithing, spinning, and baking techniques, and children tried grinding with hand mills. The Bergedorf museum landscape, with the Rieck Haus, presented an excursion destination that clearly showcases the rural identity of Hamburg's southeast – in the Bergedorf district, far from Hamburg's urban cityscape.
