Overview

The 31st edition of the GDT Nature Photography Festival took place in October 2025 as usual in Lünen. Lectures by international nature photographers at the Heinz-Hilpert-Theater, a large photo market at the LÜKAZ cultural center with manufacturers like OM SYSTEM and Sony, as well as several exhibitions and a book lounge.

The 31st edition of the GDT International Nature Photography Festival in Lünen was organized by the Gesellschaft für Naturfotografie e.V. on the last weekend of October 2025. The Heinz-Hilpert-Theater served as the central lecture venue, and the LÜKAZ cultural center hosted the photo market.

As in previous years, nationally and internationally recognized nature photographers presented their work on the main stage, complemented by seminars and workshops in the side rooms. The photo market attracted manufacturers such as OM SYSTEM, Sony, Canon, Nikon, and Fujifilm, as well as numerous photo publishers and travel services. Exhibitions, including the Picture Hall with the winning images from "GDT Nature Photographer of the Year" and "European Wildlife Photographer of the Year," formed the visual backbone of the event. Several thousand visitors from all over Europe came to Lünen — hotels in the city and surrounding areas (Dortmund, Hamm, Werne) were fully booked as usual.
