Edition 2025 — Gaswerk Music Days
The third edition of the Gaswerk Music Days took place in late July and early August 2025 over the two festival weekends. Over 30 acts on two stages in the Berlin-Lichtenberg gasworks settlement, five thematic nights. Festival pass €100. Focus in 2025: pan-African sound traditions and East German Krautrock heritage.
The 3rd edition stabilized the festival format. The 2025 lineup brought similar focuses as 2026 — Afro, Jazz, Krautrock heritage, experimental electronics. Embryo also performed at the Music Days in 2025; Burnt Friedman and Max Loderbauer (NSI) are now part of the regular ensemble.
What further shaped the festival: self-organisation by the gasworks settlement community. Bar, entrance, setup, catering — much of it handled by the residents. This structure defines the character: not a professionalized festival apparatus, but an event understood as a collective enterprise.
