Garbsen goes Beach

Caribbean in the heart of Lower Saxony

Garbsen goes Beach has established itself in recent years as a summer event with its own unique character. Instead of a classic concert evening, the festival offers a two-day dance and music concept with a Latin American flavour. The concept: learn to dance, dance along, listen, try things out, go with the flow.

Workshops for all levels

Dance schools from Hannover and the region offer free taster workshops in Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia, Merengue, or Kizomba over the weekend. Beginners are explicitly welcome; no prior experience is necessary. The workshops are complemented by DJ sets, allowing participants to immediately put what they've learned into practice on the open-air floor.

The following live acts are confirmed for 2026:

• Son con Ron – Cuban-Caribbean sound with Salsa, Son, and Latin Jazz influences
• Marquess – the German Latin pop band, known for hits like “Vayamos compañeros”

Beach and City Square Atmosphere

Sand, deck chairs, palm decorations, cocktail and street food stands transform Rathausplatz into an urban beach-feeling area. Feel free to drop by, listen in, grab a bite, dance along – without a fixed schedule. The festival thrives on this relaxed, inviting format.
