Overview
In 2025, the Gänskopfhütten-Kirchweih also took place on the second Sunday in October (Oct 12). With classic Fichtelgebirge autumn weather and golden foliage on the hut path, hikers from the Bayreuth area made their way to the hut. Snacks, beer, and cakes were served, as every year, by the FGV Weidenberg club team.
The 2025 edition proceeded as usual: hut opened at 10:00 AM, morning drinks with hikers from Eckartsreuth and Kirchenpingarten, lunch with Franconian snacks, and a rush at the cake buffet from 2:00 PM onwards. Closing was as usual around 6:00 PM.
Over the years, the Hütten-Kerwa has become a fixed date in the calendar for hiking enthusiasts around Weidenberg – complemented by the Allerweltskerwa a week later in the village center of Kirchenpingarten.
