Already in 2025, Schwerin ushered in spring with the FrühjahrsErwachen. The two-part weekend combined a cultural programme in the Old Town with the season opening of the Schwerin-Mueß Open-Air Museum and is one of the state capital's regular spring events.

The FrühjahrsErwachen is the spring festival of the state capital Schwerin. In 2025, the city once again celebrated the transition to the warm season with a two-part weekend: a festival day in the historic Old Town around the market square and the Schleswig-Holstein-Haus, as well as the season opening of the Open-Air Museum for Folklore in Schwerin-Mueß. Music, circus theatre, hands-on activities, a spring market, and craft demonstrations made the festival a family-friendly start to spring — from the city centre to Lake Schwerin.
