Four-day Volksfest funfair with over 70 showmen and a large fireworks display at the Huddelberg market and exhibition grounds
The Frühjahrsmarkt Bremervörde marks the start of the Volksfest season in the district town of the Elbe-Weser triangle. For four days, from Friday to Monday, the Huddelberg market and exhibition grounds transform into a lively amusement park. With over 70 announced showmen, the annual fair is one of the major events of its kind in Lower Saxony.
The wide range of attractions offered by the showmen includes modern rides such as roller coasters, swing rides, and looping coasters, as well as classic carousels, bumper cars, and children's rides, alongside game booths, shooting galleries, prize wheels, and skill games. Food stalls will provide visitors with bratwurst, fries, crêpes, candied almonds, and gingerbread hearts. Innkeepers will offer beer, wine, and cocktails.
A traditional highlight of the Frühjahrsmarkt is the grand fireworks display on Monday evening around 10:00 PM. Thousands of visitors gather on and around the exhibition grounds to experience the multi-minute pyrotechnic show. The fireworks mark the end of the four days of festivities and have been a firm part of the program for years.
Monday is traditionally Family Day. Showmen offer reduced prices and special promotions, allowing families with multiple children to visit the fair affordably. Schools, kindergartens, and families from the entire Rotenburg (Wümme) district use the day for outings together.
The Frühjahrsmarkt has a long tradition. Bremervörde was an important regional market center for centuries, and today's annual fair evolved from historical market days. Today, it is purely a funfair and a social highlight of spring in the town.
From Friday to Monday, the Frühjahrsmarkt attracts thousands of visitors to the Huddelberg exhibition grounds daily. The evenings, with full illumination, are among the highlights.
Monday evening is dedicated to the traditional fireworks display around 10:00 PM. It marks the conclusion of the four festive days and has been a firm part of the program for years.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the spring. The structure follows the proven key points from previous years.
