Overview

The Friedrichstadt Canal Christmas 2025 took place as usual on the 1st Advent weekend in the historic old town. Wooden huts on the market square, "Anpunschen" at the Christmas tree, open old town shops, and the unique "Little Amsterdam" setting once again made the market one of the most atmospheric Advent destinations in Schleswig-Holstein.

Review: Canal Christmas 2025

In 2025, the Tourism Association Friedrichstadt and surrounding area e.V. once again presented the Canal Christmas on the historic market square. Wooden huts, "Anpunschen" on Friday evening around the Christmas tree with fire baskets, open shops for Advent shopping — the proven concept remained unchanged.

The "Little Amsterdam" old town with its stepped gables, canals, and Dutch-influenced clinker facades provided a backdrop that no other Christmas market in Northern Germany can match — and this is precisely the special charm of the Friedrichstadt Canal Christmas.
