Edition 2025 — Freiluftkino Neue Zukunft

The 2025 season of Freiluftkino Neue Zukunft ran from May 1 to early October 2025, once again bringing indie film culture to the Stralau summer. The 300 seats under the open sky on the Parkwegbrücke over the Spree filled up regularly on warm evenings — the program of current festival films, arthouse classics, and documentaries followed the curatorial line developed by the Kino Zukunft team since 2019. Tickets €9 regular, €7 reduced, box office only. In case of rain, relocation to the indoor sister cinema directly at the location.

The 2025 season confirmed the status of Freiluftkino Neue Zukunft as one of Berlin's most atmospheric summer cinema venues. Five months of open-air programming, curated by the Kino Zukunft team, with a consistent indie and arthouse focus. The Spree-side location between Treptower Park and Ostkreuz, as always, made the venue one of Berlin's most uniquely atmospheric summer meeting points — water background, stars above the screen, the Neue Zukunft bar right next door. Indoor alternatives in case of rain ensured that screenings were practically never canceled. The following 2026 season will start accordingly on April 30, 2026, with the proven format.
