Overview

In July 2025, Freiburg's city center once again transformed into a giant, free open-air festival. For three days, over 100 bands, choirs, and ensembles performed on nine stages throughout the old town — bringing together classical music, pop, jazz, indie, choral music, and world music. Over 35,000 visitors enjoyed the festival with free admission — supported by the citizens' association Kultur leben e.V.

Freiburg stimmt ein 2025 — Summer in the City

In 2025, the central squares and courtyards of Freiburg's old town were once again transformed into a networked sound machine for three days. Bands, choirs, and ensembles performed on nine stages, and the audience strolled from concert to concert — free of charge, intergenerational, diverse.

The festival once again confirmed its character as a community celebration: no major corporations, no mainstream headliners, but a dense program of artists from Freiburg's music scene and invited guests. This gives Freiburg stimmt ein a special place in the Southern German festival landscape.
