Edition 2025 — Freiberger Christmarkt
The 2025 edition of the Freiberger Christmarkt once again attracted numerous visitors to the Obermarkt from November 25 to December 22. A miners' parade in torchlight on December 6, the Stollen cake cutting, and a miners' festival marked a classic Ore Mountains Advent weekend.
Around 90 wooden stalls showcased Ore Mountains handicrafts, mulled wine, Stollen cake, and regional specialties. The Miners' Parade in Torchlight on December 6, 2025, drew thousands again as miners and brass bands marched through the old town with burning torches – a tradition that is part of UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage. Over 250 illuminated shops accompanied the market throughout the entire old town.
