Overview

In the 2025 season, the Fränkischer Theatersommer also performed at the Giechburg above Scheßlitz with comedies, musicals, and plays in the Franconian dialect. As the State Theatre of Upper Franconia, the ensemble gave numerous performances at around 70 venues in the region, making the historic castle complex one of the most atmospheric open-air stages in the Bamberg district.

In the 2025 season, the Fränkischer Theatersommer continued its tradition of bringing theatre to places without a permanent venue. At the Giechburg near Scheßlitz, audiences experienced performances from the touring repertoire of the State Theatre of Upper Franconia – from comedies and musicals to plays in the Franconian dialect. Set against the backdrop of the historic castle complex and its courtyard with a beer garden, the venue once again offered a special theatrical experience in 2025 for visitors from the entire Bamberg district.
