Overview

The 2025 forest festival season at Lake Tegern unfolded in its usual tradition: from mid-June to early August, sports, traditional costume, and rifle clubs from the valley communities of Kreuth, Bad Wiessee, Tegernsee, and Rottach-Egern celebrated their forest festivals on clearings and in spa parks. Tegernseer beer, brass music, and Bavarian traditional costumes characterized the scene, complemented by the major lake festivals on Lake Tegern.

In 2025, the forest festival season again spanned almost two months. Clubs such as FC Real Kreuth, TSV Bad Wiessee, the Gebirgsschützenkompanie Tegernsee, and the region's ski clubs opened their traditional festival grounds. Tegernseer beer on tap, mountain barbecue, "Steckerlfisch" (grilled fish on a stick), and "Brotzeiten" (snack platters) were standard features.

Highlights of the season were, as always, the three major lake festivals in Rottach-Egern, Tegernsee, and Bad Wiessee with illuminated boats and fireworks, as well as the cattle drive (Almauftrieb) in Kaltenbrunn as a social event of the valley. The emotional conclusion was marked by the Rosstag in Rottach-Egern with over 200 horses and historically decorated wagons.
