About Weinmarkt Flonheim
The Flonheimer Weinmarkt is one of the most important wine festival events in the Alzey-Land association. The venue is the town center of Flonheim, a Rheinhessen municipality with a strong wine-growing tradition.
Three Festival Days in Late Spring
The wine festival classically extends from Friday to Sunday and takes advantage of the late spring temperatures for a pleasant outdoor format. In the 2026 edition, the weekend falls on May 29th to 31st. The town center will be equipped with stands, catering areas, a stage, and festive lighting.
Historical Tour
A unique selling point of the Flonheimer Weinmarkt is the historical tour on Saturday afternoon. Embedded in the festival weekend, visitors can learn more about the history of Flonheim, its wine-growing tradition, and its architectural features. This combination of wine and history creates a deeper experience than a pure wine festival.
Ecumenical Church Service
The ecumenical church service on Sunday morning at 11 am underscores the unifying character of the festival. The Catholic and Protestant communities celebrate together – an element that was not a given in the past and is now perceived as an important part of the festival.
Crowning of the New Wine Queen
The highlight is the crowning of a new Wine Queen on Sunday at 3:30 PM. The outgoing Wine Queen hands over the tiara to her successor, and the village community follows the moment with great interest. Afterwards, the new Wine Queen will represent Flonheim for a year at festivals, receptions, and trade fairs.
Live Music
Throughout the weekend, live music on the festival stage ensures the right atmosphere. Cover bands, acoustic sets, and brass ensembles alternate and complement the rural, festive ambiance.
