Overview

The Fischertagsvorabend 2025 took place, as is traditional, on the eve of the Memmingen Fischertag. From 5:00 PM, the Stadtbüttel, Stadtgarde, Trommlerbuben, Fanfarenzug, and Jugendkapelle gathered in historical costumes on Memmingen's Marktplatz to solemnly proclaim the Fischertag of the following day — a tradition that has been part of Memmingen's festival calendar for generations.

In 2025, the Fischertagsvorabend once again marked the symbolic start of the grand Memmingen festival weekend. The historical groups of the Fischertagsverein staged their performances with unbroken tradition. Drummers and fanfare bands paraded through Memmingen's old town, whose medieval backdrop of city walls, Steuerhaus, and town hall provided the perfect stage for this centuries-old custom.

The following day, around 1,000 Memmingen residents stormed the Stadtbach for the traditional fishing with wooden fork nets — a ritual that keeps the old Imperial City tradition alive and makes Memmingen famous throughout Bavaria.
