Overview

The festival weekend celebrating 775 Years of Pasewalk will be held as a major city anniversary for the first time in 2026. The year 2025 was dedicated to intensive preparation: the city administration established five working groups, invited clubs, associations, and companies to participate in the parade, and planned the three-day program.

2025 — The Year of Preparation

The festival weekend celebrating the 775th anniversary of Pasewalk is a unique major event for the 2026 anniversary year and has no annual predecessor. The year 2025 was entirely dedicated to preparation.

The Pasewalk city administration coordinated the planning through five working groups. Museum director Maria Mischke took over the leadership of the parade planning. Companies, clubs, associations, and institutions were invited to participate in the approximately four-kilometer-long parade with floats, walking groups, or historical reenactments. Thus, the concept for the three-day festival weekend in September 2026 was developed over the course of 2025.
