A festival week in the style of the 800th-anniversary celebration has not yet taken place in 2025 — the Festwoche 800 Years Parchim is a first event in 2026. In 2025, Parchim hosted the annual summer concerts and the 41st City Festival (early June), while preparations for the grand anniversary year 2026 were already underway at the city office.

Preparation Year 2025

In 2025, the Parchim city administration was busy preparing the extensive Festwoche 800 Years Parchim for 2026 — workshops with associations on designing the parade, program coordination with cultural institutions, festival wine edition, advertising materials. The 800th-anniversary celebration itself will first take place in 2026.

In the summer of 2025, Parchim's regular event program ran: the 41st City Festival in early June, Festspiele MV concert in St. George's, Staircase Concerts, Picnic Concert at the Old Cemetery, Martinimarkt in November. The participation of associations, schools, and companies in the 2026 parade was coordinated at the end of 2025 — resulting in over 2,000 registered participants.
