Overview

The 2025 season at Festung Dömitz once again followed the dense summer calendar of previous years: North German Day in May, Children's Festival in June, tribute concerts and folk evenings during the school holidays, and an opera performance in August. The fortress on the Elbe thus remained one of the most important open-air concert venues in southwestern Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 2025.

In 2025, Festung Dömitz again offered a packed programme from May to August with concerts, family events, and traditions. Characteristic were the tribute concerts by martins-music-café (AC/DC, ABBA, Beatles, Status Quo), the benefit concert by the Army Music Corps, the Dömitz Music Night, Irish folk evenings, the popular summer night picnic, and an opera performance in the fortress courtyard.

The musical programme was complemented by the North German Day with an arts and crafts market and Low German programme, the Children's Festival, and the Elbe Biosphere Market. For years, the event series has been the flagship of the historic Renaissance fortress in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district.
