Overview

In 2025, the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern once again brought classical music to unusual locations across the state — including Neustrelitz. Spread throughout the summer, around 120 concerts offered a broad program from symphonic to chamber music. The festival reaffirmed its status as one of Germany's largest classical music festivals and its concept of replacing concert halls with historical venues.

The 2025 festival season followed the proven concept of the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: classical music in special locations, from village churches to manor houses, spread across the entire state. Neustrelitz was also included as a venue.

The statewide program included symphony concerts, chamber music, solo recitals, and open-air events with artists from around the world. For the Mecklenburg Lake District and the Residenzstadt Neustrelitz, the festival was a cultural highlight of the summer.
