Overview

As in previous years, the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern 2025 featured performances at the Klosterkirche Rühn near Bützow. Chamber music in the Romanesque brick church from the late 13th century — soloists and ensembles from the festival scene gave concerts in the historic space for an evening.

In 2025, the Klosterkirche Rühn once again played its part as one of the most sought-after venues for the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The medieval brick structure, with its unusual length, offers striking acoustics and an atmospheric setting for solo and chamber music concerts.

With the Nordkurier Venue Award granted in 2010, the Festspiele honored the maintenance and use of the monastery complex by the Klosterverein Rühn. In 2025, concerts with classical programs — ranging from the Renaissance through Baroque to Romanticism — were again at the center.
