Overview

In 2025, the Festspiele im Schlossgarten once again graced Neustrelitz Castle Hill with a major operetta or musical production by the Theater und Orchester Neubrandenburg/Neustrelitz. In front of the castle church backdrop, audiences experienced high-quality open-air theater over several summer weeks, accompanied by guest performances and concerts—the proven mix that has made the festival Germany's largest operetta festival.

The 2025 festival season continued the tradition upheld since 2001: The Theater und Orchester Neubrandenburg/Neustrelitz (TOG) presented an elaborate main production on the festival stage in the Schlossgarten. As every summer, performances took place under the open sky and against the characteristic backdrop of the neoclassical castle church.

In addition to the central production, the program included guest performances, concerts, and family shows. Over the summer weeks, the baroque castle garden attracted numerous visitors from the region and beyond, reaffirming the festival's status as a cultural flagship of the Mecklenburg Lake District.
