The Festival of Lights in the Kurpark Bad Pyrmont is considered the largest festival of lights in Northern Germany and is among the leading light art events nationwide. Over 300 handmade light installations, a 1.5 km long route, and a well-thought-out dramaturgy make the festival a light art experience of special quality.

Historic Spa Park as a Venue

The Kurpark Bad Pyrmont is one of the most important historic spa parks in Lower Saxony. With its old trees, the concert shell, the goldfish pond, and the winding paths, it offers the perfect setting for a light installation. The lights emphasize the park's architecture and create new perspectives.

Over 300 Light Installations

The installations are handmade and range from simple light objects to complex sculptures that react to light, movement, and sometimes music. The themed worlds – including UV and 3D experiments – provide variety and constantly surprise visitors.

Six and a Half Weeks Duration

The festival runs from January 15 to February 28, 2026. It is open every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 5 PM to 9 PM. This gives the festival a long season, allowing for multiple visits.

Tickets and Prices

Admission costs €22 per person, reduced €16. Children up to 6 years old are free. Tickets are available at kurpark-lichterfest.de and should be booked in advance, as the festival is in high demand every year.

Highlight of the Winter Program

The Festival of Lights is the highlight of the winter spa program in Bad Pyrmont and makes the town a tourist attraction in the first weeks of the year. Overnight stays, wellness offers, and culinary packages complement the light art experience.
