Overview

The inaugural Fest der Keramik 2025 took place in September in the Gleishalle Oberhafen, establishing the new Hamburg format in the North German ceramics scene. A very diverse mix of talented ceramic artists from the North and beyond presented functional and sculptural works; workshops and pottery wheel demonstrations accompanied the weekend.

The 2025 premiere showed that the Gleishalle Oberhafen, with its clear natural light and industrial acoustics, can be an extraordinary venue for a ceramics market. The organizers spoke at the end of a "truly colorful mix of great ceramic artists" that embodied the concept: stoneware alongside porcelain, everyday ware alongside sculptural work.

The festival took place over a weekend in September 2025, with admission by voluntary donation. The positive feedback led directly to the announcement of the subsequent 2026 edition.
