In 2025, Bochum-Linden still hosted the classic Feierabendmarkt — a series of market days throughout the summer half-year, supported by the Linden bewegt initiative. Each market day featured stalls with regional products, snacks, drinks, and occasional live music. After the 2025 season, the organizing team decided to restructure the format starting in 2026 under the name Feierabendfeste with clear seasonal themes and curated stage programming.

Feierabendmarkt 2025 — The Original Format

The Feierabendmarkt 2025 ran with the established market concept: regional products, snacks, drinks at stalls, occasional musical accompaniment, a neighborhood meeting point. Bochum-Linden has had an active market culture for years, supported by the neighborhood initiative Linden bewegt.

Following the 2025 season, the initiative decided to enhance the format: the pure market was to become a series of mini-district festivals with thematic concepts. This reform led to the new name Feierabendfeste in 2026, with themes such as Maibaumfest, Midsummer Evening, Dog Days, and Rustling Leaves.
