Carnival parade in the Trier district of Ehrang on Rose Monday
Ehrang, in the northwest of Trier, at the confluence of the Kyll and Moselle rivers, is one of Trier's largest and most densely populated districts with a strong club life. The district has its own carnival tradition with active clubs that independently organize both stage shows and the Rose Monday parade.
While the main Trier parade winds through the city center on Rose Monday morning, the district parade begins in Ehrang in the afternoon. Assembly takes place in Alemannenstraße and Merowingerstraße – streets whose names refer to the late antique and early medieval settlement history. The parade includes floats from carnival clubs, walking groups, school groups, and friendly clubs from the Trier region and the adjacent Eifel. Candies and small sweets are thrown into the audience.
Afterwards, the carnival activities move to the local clubs and inns in Ehrang.
The 2026 edition follows the classic district parade format. The exact order of parade numbers and the number of floats will be published by the Ehrang carnival clubs in February 2026.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in February. The structure follows the proven milestones of previous years:
