Overview
The Family Day at Burghausen Castle 2025 opened the world's longest castle complex for a day of hands-on activities, family tours, and a varied program. The Bavarian Palace Department, Burghausen City Museum, and State Collections of Paintings Bavaria worked hand in hand as usual.
In 2025, families from the Altötting district and beyond once again used Family Day to experience Burghausen Castle as a place of adventure. Open stations, special guided tours, and activities on castle history made the Wittelsbach complex accessible to a generation that often only visits with their school class.
The format demonstrates one of the goals that the Bavarian Palace Department pursues with its special events: making cultural heritage accessible and allowing it to be experienced participatively.
