Overview

The Familien-Drachenfest Hütten 2025 took place in mid-September 2025 at the Rickenbach-Hütten gliding airfield, once again gathering national and international kite flyers with their spectacular creations. Giant kites, stunt kites, a kite-making school for children, and the popular Saturday evening night flying characterized the weekend.

Kite Festival 2025 in the Hotzenwald

The 2025 edition of the Family Kite Festival confirmed its reputation as one of Southern Germany's most beautiful kite festivals. At the Hütten gliding airfield — one of the region's highest airfields at around 900 m altitude — kite flyers from Germany, Switzerland, and all over Europe showcased their creations.

Families with children were the main audience: kite building in the reed school, stunt kite demonstrations, and the magical night display of illuminated kites on Saturday evening were memorable. Organizer as always: Luftsportgemeinschaft Hotzenwald e.V., free admission.
