Northern Germany's largest indoor festival at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds – 50 acts on 5 stages for 20,000 visitors
The Hannover Exhibition Grounds are among the largest in the world and offer the infrastructural prerequisites to host an indoor festival of a scale that would otherwise only be possible outdoors. Several interconnected exhibition halls become the festival architecture, with five stages, lounge areas, bars, restrooms, and catering in between. This concept turns FAIRGROUND into a large-scale, weather-independent event that takes place in November, during the first real winter days.
Five stages, each with its own musical programming, are spread across the exhibition grounds. Ten or more acts perform per stage, with the program totaling around 50 acts. The musical spectrum ranges from hard Techno programming on the main stage to melodic House and Tech House, to Electro, Drum and Bass, and experimental club sounds.
With approximately 20,000 visitors, FAIRGROUND is one of the largest indoor festivals in Germany and by far the largest event of its kind in Northern Germany. The audience comes from Hannover, the surrounding Lower Saxony region, and Northern Germany as a whole; festival tourists from Bremen, Hamburg, Berlin, and Münster are frequently represented.
FAIRGROUND focuses on professional festival architecture with elaborate stage designs, high-quality sound technology, and consistent lighting design. Visual installations and light art contributions complement the musical programming. The hall architecture offers the possibility to transform each stage into its own visual world.
As in previous years, FAIRGROUND is designed as a large-scale festival. The hall architecture allows each of the five stages to have its own distinct stage design and sound signature, enabling visitors to move between areas and experience different musical and visual worlds.
