Overview

The ExtraSchicht 2025 took place on June 28 — one of Germany's most attended industrial culture events with over 200,000 visitors at 50+ venues. In Duisburg, Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord and the Inner Harbour were the main venues; the successful formula of ExtraSchicht will be expanded in 2026 with new focuses (drone show, city beach).

ExtraSchicht 2025 once again established the festival as a cultural highlight of the Ruhr summer. In Duisburg, the Landscape Park and Inner Harbour were the central venues with stage programs and light installations. Ruhr Tourismus GmbH confirmed the festival's continuation and announced program innovations for 2026.

Programme

In 2025, ExtraSchicht took place in its classic format — Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord with illuminated blast furnaces, Inner Harbour with a stage, diving demonstrations in the gasometer, and a Ruhr-wide program with shuttles.
