Seven Islands in One Week
The EWE-Nordseelauf is one of Germany's most extraordinary running projects: From June 20 to 27, 2026, runners will complete one stage on one of the East Frisian Islands on seven consecutive days. The journey begins in the west (Borkum) and ends in the east (Wangerooge), including all ferry crossings between the islands.
Wangerooge Stage on June 26
Wangerooge is the 6th stage and will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026. The route leads along the dikes, through the island village, and through the typical dune and salt marsh landscape that makes Wangerooge so special.
UNESCO World Natural Heritage as a Backdrop
The Wadden Sea has been a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site since 2009. Anyone running on Wangerooge is therefore running through one of Europe's most important nature reserves, with views of salt marshes, mudflats, flocks of birds, and the open sea.
Stage Package or Individual Stage
The run can be booked as a complete seven-stage package (including accommodation on the islands and ferry transfer) or as an individual stage. The Wangerooge stage is also open without booking the previous stages, making it attractive for Wangerooge's summer guests as well.
Car-Free Island
Wangerooge is a car-free island and is only accessible by ferry and island railway. The journey is part of the running experience.
