About EWE Nordseelauf Langeoog

The EWE Nordseelauf is one of North Germany's most spectacular running events. Over seven days in June 2026 (June 20–27), the stage race takes participants across all seven East Frisian islands. The Langeoog stage is expected to take place on June 24 or 25, 2026. Each island stage is 10 kilometers long. The 24th edition in 2026 is under the strong motto “Don't stop – run against violence” – a statement against gender-based and domestic violence, making the race a sportingly and socio-politically charged event. Stage sequence: Borkum (June 20), Norderney, Baltrum, Juist, Langeoog, Spiekeroog, Wangerooge.

Seven Islands, Seven Stages, One Week

The EWE Nordseelauf is one of Germany's most original running formats. In seven stages, the competition takes participants across all seven East Frisian islands in one week. Each island has its own stage with a different course profile between beach, dunes, promenades, and the island village. With the 24th edition in 2026, the format looks back on a long tradition.

Langeoog Stage at the End of June 2026

The Langeoog stage is expected to take place on June 24 or 25, 2026 – the exact date will be published by the organizer in advance. The course length is classically 10 kilometers and leads through the typical Langeoog landscape – island village, dune paths, possibly beach sections, and island roads. Those who complete the entire stage week will cover over 70 kilometers in total.

2026 Motto: “Don't stop – run against violence”

This year's motto “Don't stop – run against violence” gives the race an additional message. The run thus positions itself against gender-based and domestic violence and calls on runners to show visible solidarity. Fundraising and awareness campaigns will accompany the stages.

Stage Sequence June 20–27, 2026

The seven islands will be covered in the following order:

  • Sat 20.06.: Borkum – Opening stage
  • Sun 21.06.: Norderney
  • Mon 22.06.: Baltrum
  • Tue 23.06.: Juist

  • Fri 26.06.: Spiekeroog
  • Sat 27.06.: Wangerooge – Final stage

Sporting Experience and Island Tour

Anyone who completes the full Nordseelauf experiences a week of sports and island tourism. Accommodation on changing islands, ferry crossings, catering, and route planning are elaborately organized. Individual stage starts are also possible for day participants – the Langeoog stage is thus a single running event for island guests or day visitors.

Travel and Tides

Access to Langeoog is by ferry from Bensersiel. The tides must be considered when changing islands – this is coordinated by the organizer within the stage concept.
