Most traditional Volksfest since 1843 — July 3rd to 5th, 2026
The Erntefest Wustrow looks back on over 180 years of history. Since 1843, the citizens of the Wendland town of Wustrow have celebrated their harvest festival — making it one of the oldest and most traditional community festivals in all of Lower Saxony. The Erntefestverein currently has 466 members — an impressive number for a town of this size.
Previously four days long, the festival is now concentrated into three days. In 2026, it runs from Friday, July 3rd, to Sunday, July 5th (kick-off on Thursday evening, July 2nd).
The Erntefest is not the festival of a single club, but a community festival. The Erntefestverein organizes it, but the entire village community contributes: clubs build floats for the parade, families provide staff for stalls, and the king's throne is redesigned annually. This makes the festival a cornerstone of the town's identity.
Wustrow is located in the western Wendland, between Lüchow and Uelzen. The Erntefest regularly attracts thousands of visitors from the entire Lüchow-Dannenberg district — many return year after year.
