Monthly evening market in the Kurpark Bad Ems with culinary delights, arts and crafts, and themed evenings
The Emser Abendmarkt is a beloved meeting point of the Bad Ems summer weeks. Every first Thursday of the month from April to October, the area of the Kurpark between the Kaiser Wilhelm Monument and the Spielbank transforms into an evening market with a festival character.
The stalls offer a wide variety of culinary delights: regional bratwurst, tarte flambée, Mediterranean tapas, Asian snacks, vegan bowls, crêpes, cocktails, beer, and wine from the region. Arts and crafts and regional products complement the offerings: jewelry, leather goods, ceramics, honey, pickled vegetables, regional liqueurs.
A special feature is the themed evenings, which give individual market dates a special character. "Dolce Vita" brings Italian flair with pasta, antipasti, Italian wines, and live music from Bella Italia. "Viva la France" focuses on French cuisine – crêpes, bouillabaisse, cheese platters, red wine – and a suitable music program. Other themes change throughout the season.
The Salsa workshops, which precede some evenings, are another hallmark. Those who start a summer evening with a desire to dance can first learn the basic steps and later try out what they've learned at the market.
Live music accompanies the evenings: small bands, singer-songwriters, acoustic formats that don't disturb conversation at the standing tables but provide entertainment.
Dates for 2026: April 2, May 7, June 11, July 2, August 6, September 3, October 1 – each from 4 PM to 10 PM.
The 2026 season continues the proven concept with themed evenings, Salsa workshops, and live music. The Emser Abendmarkt is one of the relaxed must-attend events in the Bad Ems event calendar.
